What do I do as a coach?

Coaching Saved My Life

I’ll let you in on a little secret…

Before Beachbody, I was self-conscience, depressed, anxiety ridden, insecure, and blaming everyone for my misery. I’ve battled these things for years. From being overweight, having scars, having acne, being rejected by men, not being financially stable, failing at goals, etc. I felt so down on myself at times that it made me feel weak and helpless. I wanted to give up on myself.

Then I realized the best motivator in life is the feeling of failure and hitting your breaking point. Have you ever tried to use your weaknesses as strengths? Did you ever see reaching your breaking point as a positive because you can only go up from here? This is how I’ve gotten to where I am today.

For example, before now I can’t remember the last time I wore shorts and actually felt confident in them. I’m serious. My thighs were always too big for shorts, so I became obsessed with wearing skirts and dresses during the summer. I never felt comfortable in shorts. They would be too tight around my thighs and made me very insecure with my body. So one day I decided, no shorts. Now one of my favorite parts of my body is my legs.

Why do I share this? Because people
I work with and people I coach, all the time say, you have a great body. But unless I believe that myself, it means nothing. We all have things we are self-conscience about. We all have things we consider to be flaws. We all have attributes we don’t love. We all have areas of our life that need some work. But ya know what? It’s time to end it. We need to love ourselves for who we are TODAY, and then focus on what we can control to be an ever better version of ourselves tomorrow.

Choose Happiness

I CHOOSE to focus on being healthy, happy and being a beautiful person from the inside out. We all have strengths, we all have unique qualities, and we all have a lot to offer. The key to success is to focus on these positive things and then gradually work on the things we feel we lack or want to change.

I’m not saying you should be obsessed with working on your body, but if there’s something you don’t like about it, than stop making excuses and work hard to change it. Find a balance in your life. I’m no where near where I want to be, but I’m far from where I used to be. I’m also physically, mentally and financially stronger than I’ve EVER been because I finally believe in myself. I lost 15lbs, 18 inches, 2 pant sizes and for once in my life feel confident in shorts, I can do over 25 pushups without taking a break or giving up, I make time everyday to read personal development books to increase my knowledge and encourage myself to grow, and I’m able to take vacations I never thought possible by getting rewarded for my hard work of helping others. I CHOOSE TO SHINE today, tomorrow and every day going forward.
